Okay, everyone! We are going to write a poem TOGETHER based on Walter Dean Meyers' poem "Love that Boy." I have chosen FIVE different lines. Choose the line you can best relate to and work on that poem. CHOOSE ONLY ONE COLLABORATIVE POEM TO WORK ON!
This is "first come, first serve"--you can't repeat someone else's line. If they've already written a line you wanted to, you'll just have to go on to the next line.

I would love to have suggestions of online activities you would like to do regarding POETRY. Find a website that is credible, and has online activities geared for your age.
To post, simply copy and paste the website into your comment and then write a sentence or two describing the site and/or why it'd be good for us to use in class!
Google away!

I would love to know the following:
1. Is there a poem you like, or song lyrics you really enjoy that are poetic? If so, what is the song/poem and who is the poet/singer? (You should google the song and find out who the lyricist is as well-the person that actually WROTE the song!)
2. Are there any poems you'd like to see us study and really take a close look at in class?

What did you like about today's lesson with Batman and Tigger? What does onomatopoeia mean--do you remember the definition?
Can you think of more words besides buzz, boom, pop, bang, meow, click, clank...that make a sound?

This is a warning about using this blog. If others ask you a question, you need to respond respectfully. Please do NOT say, "what I told ms. w" rather than repeating the answer. A more respectful response would be, "I thought the poem was confusing because.... (also, I mentioned this below in my response to Ms.W.).."
Also, it is okay to have different opinions, however, we need to express those opinions RESPECTFULLY.
